The first friendly of the season saw Raith run out winners by a solitary Gareth Wardlaw goal when he headed home a Joe Dunbar cross. This was a game of few chances with the teams cancelling each other out but Raith hit the bar through Robert Sloan whilst Kevin Haynes did the same for Stenhousemuir as he followed up a rebound from a Stevie Ferguson shot. The Warriors did have the ball in the net late in the game but the effort was disallowed for offside Nevertheless this was a decent workout for both teams in their preparations for the forthcoming season
