Last night the club rejected an offer for John Gemmell, from another 2nd Division club.
A further two increased offers were also received but club chairman, Bill Darroch, rejected all offers as they did not meet the SFC valuation of the player.
The chairman stated that we were not prepared to transfer one of our best players to a club in the same division that was in opposition to us. We have recently signed 3 quality players which was done with the intention of raising the standard of player at the club in an endeavour to get us back into a promotion play-off spot.
The chairman commented, it would have been easy for the club to accept the bid but I wanted to give us the best chance of reaching a promotion position and can assure our supporters of our commitment of trying to attain promotion.
