It was another stalemate at Ochilview as Stenhousemuir and Peterhead played out a goalless draw.

Stenhousemuir went into the match hoping to build on their 1-1 draw with Forfar at Station Park last week. Gary Naysmith named 2 changes to that side, Bradley Rodden and Jordan Kirkpatrick came into the side and replaced Matty Yates and Euan O’Reilly.

The first chance of the match fell to the visitors. O’Keefe ran down the left flank and crossed for Ritchie, but Bilham did enough to put Ritchie off as he headed over.

The Warriors responded well, having a chance a couple of minutes later. Matty Aitken got half a yard of space and let fly, his shot was spilled wide by McKenzie.

Stenhousemuir went close again in the 12th minute. There was some neat build-up play that lead to Meechan putting in a cross for Aitken, his header was deflected into the path of Rodden, who produced an acrobatic overhead kick, but was over the bar.

The next chance came in the 26th minute. After a great looping effort by O’Keefe for the visitors, Darren Jamieson managed to track it back and tip it over his bar in what was an acrobatic stop.

It took until just before the 45th minute for the next goalmouth action in the match. Matty Aitken was fouled on the edge of the box, the Warriors had a free kick in a dangerous position. But Kirkpatrick was only able to force a save from McKenzie.

There was not much to shout about in the second half, and the match stopped, with the referee stopping for fouls regularly.

The first real chance in the second half came for the visitors in the 72nd minute. O’Keefe produced a pinpoint cross and was met by Pawlet, who had a free header, but it hit the top of the net.

Just before the last 10 minutes, The Warriors won a corner after a quick break from Berry. He played in O’Reilly, but the defender got in front of him to deny him.

Stenhousemuir had a great chance to win it at the death after Adam Brown played in a corner to Yates at the front post, but he put his header just wide.

Stenhousemuir now travel to Dumbarton next week hoping to make it a historical day should results go our way on the day.
