League leaders, Stenhousemuir travel to Bayview tomorrow where they take on East Fife for the third time in the cinch league two this season.

The Warriors go into the match off the back of an important 1-0 victory at home to Dumbarton last Saturday. Ross Taylors’s rebound after Matty Yates’ free kick was enough to separate the two sides. A Ryan Blair red card from Dumbarton helped the Warriors see out the match. 

Gary Naysmith previewed the match tomorrow saying, “It will be a difficult game. They’re struggling to get a run of form going. They have given us two really good games already this season. We should have a full 19-man squad for the match.”

For one of the first times this season, Gary Naysmith will have a full squad to pick from with Nicky Jamieson returning from injury and Nat Wedderburn coming back from his suspension. 

East Fife have had quite an eventful week with manager Greig McDonald resigning on Monday. The Bayview side acted quickly however, appointing Dick Campbell on Tuesday. 

The Fifers currently sit in 6th place in the league and have struggled to find consistency throughout the season so far and have only managed to get six victories. They will be hoping to get a new manager bounce and respond to those defeats at home to The Spartans and away at Elgin.

The Warriors have played East Fife twice this season with two contested matches but ones that Stenhousemuir were victorious in. The first came at Bayview early in the season and it was a 2-0 victory. Gregor Buchanan opened the scoring and Adam Brown scored late on after East Fife pushed men forward. 

The second match was at Ochilview in December where the Warriors won 2-1. O’Reilly scored inside three minutes, Matty Yates then scored halfway through the first half. East Fife came out in the second half and had a goal chopped off for offside before getting one back through Conor McManus late on. Darren Jamieson was then forced into a wonderful save late on to secure the three points.

East Fife have the better overall head-to-head record with 79 victories compared to Stenhousemuir’s 62. There have also been 38 draws in the 179 encounters.

BY CAR

The ground is quite easy to find as it is situated on the sea front and is quite visible from a distance. From Kirkcaldy take the A911 towards Methil and then the A915 to Leven. Then turn right onto the A955 towards Leven & Methil. Follow the A955 through Methil towards Buckhaven. As you go along the sea front, the ground should be visible over to your left. Turn left onto the B932 (South Street) and then left again into Harbour View Road. The ground is down the bottom of this road on the left. There is a fair sized car park at the ground.

BY TRAIN

There is no railway station in Methil itself. The nearest is in Kirkcaldy which is around eight miles away. The X26 bus service from Kirkcaldy to Leven goes to Leven Bus station which is about 10 minutes walk from Bayview.
