20 teams from across the country ascended on Toryglen on Sunday for the annual Over 60’s Walking Football Glasgow Cup. A terrific day with 200 players enjoying the many benefits walking football brings.
After a tight 2-2 draw in the final, Glasgow Life were victorious on penalties against our Auld Warriors to be crowned champions with the presentation carried out by former footballer Derek Ferguson.
The Auld Warriors won 3 out of 4 Group games to qualify for the Quarter Final where they defeated Drumchapel 3-0. They then went on to win their Semi Final 3-1 before drawing 2-2 in the Final, narrowly missing out on glory on penalties.
A huge effort from the guys, hopefully we can bring the trophy home next year!
