Ben Black has joined the Warriors on loan until the end of the season from Hamilton.

Gary Naysmith said: “After we discovered that Matthew Aitken was going to be out for a lengthy period of time, we felt it was really important to try and add another striker to the squad. Ben was allowed to train with us last week so that we could have a closer look at him and I must thank John Rankin for allowing this to happen. We had watched a lot of footage of Ben but it really helps when you can see a player up close, watch how they train and see how they fit in with the group. We were really happy with what we saw from Ben last week. We feel that he gives us a different option at the front end of the pitch as he is a different type of striker compared to the other strikers already at the club. As with all young players that join a club on loan, you can never be 100% certain about how they will adapt but we are quietly confident that Ben can make a big impact during his spell at the club.”

Head of Football, Martin Christie said: “With the unfortunate injury to Matty Aitken, we felt we had to move for a striker who could make an impact for us. Ben is young but having seen him previously for Hamilton in the UEFA Youth League and more recently for Civil Service, we feel he has the kind of attributes that can make a mark at Stenhousemuir. Thanks to Gerry Strain and all at Hamilton for helping get this over the line – we look forward to seeing Ben in action for the Warriors”
