Stenhousemuir start the fourth and final quarter of the year top of the league and they welcome their closest rivals, Spartans to Ochilview tomorrow in the cinch league two.

The Warriors come into the match off the back of an important 1-0 victory away at Bonnyrigg Rose last week. It was an even match at New Dundas Park, but Matty Aitken got on the end of a Bradley Rodden corner in the 82nd minute to make sure that Stenhousemuir got back to winning ways after the Clyde disappointment.

Gary Naysmith previewed tomorrow’s match saying “we’ll prepare as normal, exactly the same. Spartans are a really good team. They have players that can hurt us. But like most games this season, we’ll focus on ourselves and work on how we can hurt them.”

Matty Aitken also previewed tomorrow’s game saying “They’re a great side. Been doing well, playing some nice football. Up the top end of the table for a reason, but we need ot put in a much better performance at home than we did last time to give the fans something to cheer about so we will put our best into the match.

Spartans come into the match in a mixed run of form with only two wins in their last five. Those victories came against Stranraer and Bonnyrigg Rose. However, they played Bonnyrigg Rose midweek and conceded a last-minute penalty to draw the match 2-2.

The side from the capital have given the Warriors three really tough games this season. It took until the 97th minute before James Berry got the winner back in September. Last time out at Ochilview, the Warriors came from behind twice to get the winner, eventually Nicky Jamieson got on the end of a scramble inside the box to make sure the home side got the points. The Warriors then returned to Ainslie Park and turned in one of the best performances of the season to get a 2-0 win with goals from Matty Yates and Matty Aitken.

Stenhousemuir favour the head-to-head record quite considerably. The Spartans have never beaten The Warriors in four attempts.
