Stenhousemuir are on the road once again and will make the long trip north to take on Elgin City tomorrow in the cinch league 2.

The Warriors go into the match off the back of a 1-1 draw away to East Fife at Bayview last Saturday. Captain for the day Ross Meechan got the Warriors off to a great start with his head meeting a corner and going into the back of the net just five minutes in. East Fife responded well getting back into the game just before half time when Nathan Austin put his shot beyond Darren Jamieson into the goal.

Gary Naysmith previewed the game tomorrow saying “Elgin have signed a few good players. They’ve turned it around. They got their first away win last week at Spartans, so they’ll be on a high. They’ve got the second best home record in the league so it’s going to be a difficult game.”

Ross Meechan also previewed the match saying “It will be very difficult. They’ve got the second-best home record behind us. They are a totally different team now. They’ll be on a high after their win last weekend, but we’ll go up hoping for another good result.”

Ross Taylor will miss the match after picking up an injury last week in training.

Elgin came into the match after getting their first victory away from home in the league at The Spartans. A 94th minute winner from Mitchell Taylor separated the two sides after earlier goals from Mark Gallagher and Blair Henderson.

Elgin have only been defeated in three of their twelve league games at home this season.

The Warriors had to settle for a point last time they travelled to Borough Briggs. Adam Brwon put the Warriors in front before Ross Meechan got sent off. Stenhousemuir defended well in the second half, but Rory MacEwan scored in the 86th minute to make sure that the points were shared.

Stenhousemuir were victorious at Ochilview in December with a 2-0 win. An early goal from Matty Yates got the Warriors going, and Matty Aitken wrapped up the three points in the second half.

Elgin just edge the head-to-head record with 19 wins to the Warriors 18. The home side also have a much better record at Borough Briggs with 13 wins to the Stenhousemuir’s six.
