We were today delighted to hand over a £5,000 cheque to our Adult ASN Football group, thanks to a grant received from the National Lottery Community Fund. This was made possible by National Lottery players.
The Stenhousemuir Mental Health Programme has been recognised on an international level by FIFA, as being a benchmark programme to helping those in need of support.
We work in tandem with Occupational Therapists from the Forth Valley region to give vital support through the form of exercise and football, whilst also providing a safe and welcoming social environment to meet with others.
The National Lottery Community Fund, Scotland Chair, Kate Still, said: “National Lottery funding can make amazing things happen in local communities across the country. This project delivered by Warriors in the Community SCIO, is a great example of community activity in action, showing just what can be achieved when people come together for a common cause or to help others.
“National Lottery players can be proud to know that the money they raise is helping to support this vital work which is making a real difference to so many.”
This grant will present new opportunities for our Adult ASN Programme, and will enable them to participate in tournaments in the future, which will directly further their development.
