After picking up their first league victory away at East Fife, the Warriors return to Ochilview where we take on Dumbarton in the cinch League 2.
Goals from Gregor Buchanan and Adam Brown secured the 3 points for Stenhousemuir as Naysmith’s men will be hoping to build on the victory. The gaffer is hoping that the performance levels will continue to be the high standard that they have been this season. “All we can do is focus on ourselves and put in the same level of performance as we’ve put in the 3 league games so far.”
Buchanan, who will be facing off against his former club knows how difficult the game will be. “We know they’ve got quality in the squad. They’ll probably feel they should have more points on the board. We’re under no illusions that it will be a tough game.”
The Warriors are the only team in cinch league 2 to have still not conceded a goal.
Dumbarton currently sit second in the league on 5 points, a superior goal difference to the Warriors, in fourth on 5 points. The Sons themselves will be looking to build on their victory at home to Forfar last Saturday as they came from behind to win 3-1.
Like the Warriors, Stevie Farrell’s men are unbeaten in the league. Before their 3-1 win against Forfar, they had two 1-1 draws, away at Bonnyrigg Rose and at home to The Spartans.
The Warriors struggled in this fixture last season, we only beat Dumbarton once, losing twice and drawing once. The last fixture was won by the Warriors 2-1 in Dumbarton back in April. Warriors’ defenders, Buchanan and Edin Lynch featured for the opposition in that match
The Sons just edge it in all time head-to-head with Stenhousemuir picking up 62 wins, 31 draws and 69 defeats.
