The Warriors are on the road this weekend for the penultimate game of 2022.
As the manager search continues, Sean Crighton takes control for his second match.
The website caught up with the temporary gaffer and now that he has two more training sessions, asked him how it’s been this week?
“It’s been really good this week. Obviously a disappointing result on Saturday, but as I mentioned last week, I think there were things that we saw last week that we can go away and work on and try and execute it. Training has been good, there’s been a real good buzz about it and hopefully we can go to Dumbarton on Saturday and cause them problems.”
Last week, we played the bottom end of the table, at home. This week we’re away to the top team, Does that effect Sean’s prep and the prep that he puts his team through?
“Aye, definitely. But again, what I try and get across to the boys is, can we worry about ourselves. Obviously I know that Dumbarton are flying high and there’s a lot of things going their way at the moment. But we’ll try and go over there and spoil it. I think there’s less pressure on us than there is on them, being top of the table. So we’ve worked on things this week so hopefully we can over there and do that.”
With the freezing weather and several matches being postponed in Dumbarton over the last week, there is a risk of the match being postponed. But how important is it to get the match played, and encourage a good travelling support to head West?
“We want the game on, we want to go can play football. Dumbarton will want the game on also, so we’d appreciate the traveling support if they can get there. But I know it will be cold, but if they can get there I’d be delighted because I think we need them. I want them to come and enjoy and hopefully see what we’ve done over the last week or so.”
Finally, we asked Sean on the injury situation and how the squad is looking this week.
“Mikey Miller is currently unwell, but might be ok to play. Dan Higgins will miss out. But, aside from myself, everyone else is fit and ready to go.”
