We’re onto the last 3 games of the season and welcome the Coatbridge side to Ochilview in our penultimate home match.
Time is running out on our Playoff push with Edinburgh City still 3 points ahead and will be relying on Cowdenbeath to take 3 points from the capital side to ensure that a Stenhousemuir victory will take them into the final playoff place.
The Warriors are undefeated against The Wee Rovers this season with 2 wins and a draw to show for the 3 fixtures.
It’s important that the players remained focussed at this time of the Season and Warriors TV caught up with Swifty this week and asked how training and prep has been going for this weekend’s match.
“Training has been good this week and the boys have been positive after a good win against Elgin. I do have a headache this week as everyone is available. It’s looks as if we have 21 of our squad available, so we’ll take it from there, but all good on the training front.”
We only have 3 scheduled matches left this season and, naturally, all eyes will be on contract renewals and looking to see who’s in the gaffer’s plans for next Season. Euan and Nicky have already managed to pick up new contracts, taking them into 2023, but we asked Swifty if there were other contract renewals in the pipeline.
“As you say, Euan and Nicky got themselves new contracts and there will be another few players in the same boat. We’ve already touched base with a few players in the last few weeks about our plans for next season and the response has been pretty positive. We’ll hopefully tie them up soon but there are also a few who are fighting for contracts too and hopefully they perform well.”
Finally, we play Albion Rovers for the final time this season with 2 wins and a draw under our belt so far.
“Albion Rovers are a team that play a certain way. They’ve got pace and they’re very direct and they’re a handful up top with the boy Docherty. So we know what to expect but we need to go at them. We decided after Annan that we need to go all out attack and we done that on Saturday against Elgin, got the lead and were able to get a good clean sheet so we’re looking to build on that. I think recently, we have really shored up the defence. The back 4 are looking really strong and it’s just about building on these things.”
