Coaching Academy- Open for Applications

 

Stenhousemuir FC and Tryst Community Sports Club launch Young Persons Coaching Academy and is inviting applications from 16-24 year olds with a passion for sport and an interest in developing themselves as a football or sports coach.

The Football Club & TCSC is delighted to confirm 3 years of grant support from Young Start, The National Lottery Community Fund. The financial support will see the creation of a brand new coaching and development programme for young people aged 16-24. The Coaching Academy will provide a fantastic framework and platform for young people looking to develop as a coach in football or sport, working with one of Scotland’s leading community football programmes Warriors in the Community or with one of the most prominent community sports hubs in Scotland, the TCSC.

Young Start Fund is is a grants programme that distributes money from dormant bank accounts. It supports a wide range of projects for up to three years that will make children and young people aged 8 to 24 confident, healthy, connected or enterprising. Young Start fund works to achieves at least one of the following three outcomes: children and young people have better physical, mental and emotional wellbeing; children and young people have better connections with the wider community; children and young people get access to new skills and training opportunities which will help them to get a new job or start a business.

 

HOW TO APPLY

Aged 16 – 24 and want to become a coach?
Do you want to change lives and help people learn and improve?
Dream of taking a team or an athlete to the top of their sport?

The Coaching Academy will provide you with all the tools you need to become a coach and make a difference. Whether it’s a career move or simply your passion to be involved the Coaching Academy is the place for you. The programme runs for 1 year with successful applicants receiving all the following benefits;

  • £150 of grant funding per trainee coach towards coach education
  • First aid and mental health first aid training
  • Coaching attire provided
  • Gain all the experience you need to become a Head Coach
  • Be part of 2 of the most progressive and successful community programmes in Scotland
  • Receive expert support and guidance from fully qualified full-time coaches

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

Before applying ask yourself the following questions –

  1. Are you aged 16 – 24?
  2. Do you have a passion for sport?
  3. Can you commit to a weekly coaching session at Stenhousemuir Football Club and/or the Tryst Community Sports Club?

The Coaching Academy will be delivered by Stenhousemuir FC (Football Coaches) and the TCSC (Sports Coaches) and will run for 1 year with successful applicants required to commit to the programme for the duration.
