Academy Director

(Full-time; fixed-term contract until June 30th 2016)

Salary- Subject to qualifications and experience

Hours- 37 pw with regular evening and weekend work

 

The Forth Valley Football Academy (FVFA) is a collaborative project between the Scottish FA and Falkirk, Stenhousemuir and East Stirlingshire football clubs.  It operates an ‘Elite’ talent development programme for identified male footballers aged 10-17 years.  These players benefit from a coherent, systematic and progressive programme that covers fundamental aspects of performance development including coaching: game play: strength & conditioning; sport science support; education and welfare provision; and lifestyle management guidance.

The FVFA invites applications for the high profile position of Academy Director. The role presents an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in an innovative regional academy programme supported by the Scottish FA.

Operating from its base at the University of Stirling, this person will hold responsibility for the design, management, implementation and evaluation of the Academy’s Player Development Programme that supports talented players aged 10-17 years.  This programme is supported by the Scottish FA’s Club Academy Scotland scheme.

The successful candidate must hold one of the following Scottish FA recognised awards:  UEFA Pro Licence, UEFA A Licence or Elite Youth A Licence, combined with extensive experience of working with talented youth players.
