Warriors in the Community are delighted to announce that a brand new Walking Football programme is coming soon for the over 55s. This exciting new programme is thanks to a newly formed partnership with Tryst Dental Practice who have kindly agreed to fund a period of free activity for participants. Jamie Kirk, Community Development Director for the club, is thrilled to welcome Tryst Dental Practice on board and commented “I have had the pleasure of getting to know Linsey at Tryst Dental in my first few months in post and I’ve been very impressed by her drive to impact our local community in a positive way. This is, of course, an ethos which the club shares and its fantastic to be able to work together in delivering what will be a terrific project for our local area and the residents within it. We are hoping that this particular project is the first of many, which would see us continue to work together for community benefit for the foreseeable future”.

Linsey Paton, Business Manager at Tryst Dental Practice added “As a community health service provider, it is vital that we support and encourage healthy living and activity throughout our local area. Stenhousemuir FC are a close neighbour and have a clear commitment to delivering opportunity to the people in our area, and in our care. We are working to create community partnerships that deliver healthy living messages and provide education to help us work towards a healthier Scotland”.
Lesley Donaldson, Principal Dentist at Tryst Dental Practice commented, “We are delighted to work in partnership with Stenhousemuir FC and to support this fantastic opportunity for our community. We would encourage people to join in and take advantage of the fantastic facilities and support that Stenhousemuir FC and Tryst Dental can offer”.
The new Walking Football Programme is all about fun and participation for the over 55s. It is everything you know and love about the game, with one main exception – it is a foul to run! Walking Football is ideal if you haven’t been active for a while as it is a great way to get in shape using a form of physical activity which is low impact. It’s also great for confidence because it’s a form of the game that anyone can play, regardless of their current levels of fitness. We hope to launch our new classes in August.
