The Board would like to officially welcome our new Manager Scott Booth to Stenhousemuir Football Club.
We are excited to be working with Scott and have a very positive feeling about the future of the Club under his management.
We would also like to place on record our thanks to ‘Bomber’ Brown Ferguson, David Rowson, Robert Glen and Scott Buist. Brown and the guys stepped in, coached, and led the team whilst we were looking for a new permanent manager.
During this time, they managed to secure points from every league fixture and topped it off with a dominant win last Saturday against Forfar. We all owe them a debt of gratitude and the Board would like to add its thanks to them for a job well done.
We would also like to thank the players for their renewed energy and commitment over the past period. In particular, we would like to single out the game at Ibrox. The turnaround from our previous encounter could not have been more explicit. No team has taken three goals from Rangers at Ibrox in three years, and one unconfirmed statistic stated that it has been over a century since a part time team scored three at Ibrox! True or not, it was a magnificent performance from the team and one which will remain long in our memories.
And now we look forward to working with Scott Booth to build on the job that Brown and his team started over the past few weeks. Scott impressed us all during his interview for the post. He gave an honest and open account of his aspirations as a Manager and where he wants to take Stenhousemuir FC.
As a former internationalist with player experience both here and abroad, Scott commands the respect of the players. With his experience as part of the Scotland national team set-up and his particular interest in elite youth football talent, Scott will also bring this into our Club and Academy structure. These abilities made Scott an obvious choice as our new Manager.
Lastly, we thank the fans for their continuing support and we are confident that we will be able to count on it in the future to get behind Scott and the team over the games and seasons ahead. It’s an exciting time to be a Warrior!
