Stenhousemuir Football Club would like to announce that Martyn Corrigan has been appointed Manager of the Club with immediate effect.

Martyn has been taking the 1st team squad for training/matches with Kevin McGoldrick since the departure of David Irons one week ago due to personal reasons.

Club Chairman Bill Darroch said,

“Following tonight’s  pre-season friendly against Annan, I spoke to Martyn and offered him terms to become Manager.  I’m delighted to say that Martyn has accepted, and we look forward to him continuing to build the team and make his own mark on the squad as we enter the new season ahead.

“Over the last week, the Board members had discussed the vacancy and evaluated the options open to the Club.  We had received a number of notes of interests from a wide field of candidates, and we also took the opportunity to discuss the options with a range of people within Stenhousemuir Football Club.  We also listened to the views of our Supporters through the Trust, through the Fans Forum and by direct contact.

“After taking all this into account, the Board were unanimous in selecting Martyn as the man to lead the team into the season ahead.  Martyn was playing in the first team as recently as last season where he earned the respect of his teammates both on and off the pitch.  In the pre-season, he has already made the transition to coaching and we feel that these attributes will stand him in good stead to effectively lead the team to success.

“The Club is also delighted to announce that Kevin McGoldrick will be staying on as Assistant Manager.  Kevin is an important part of the management team and has already built up a good working relationship with Martyn.”
