The Reserve League Cup will be in two sections, one with 6 teams each playing their respective opponents twice on a home and away basis giving a total of 10 matches and the other with 8 teams each playing their respective opponents twice on a home and away basis, giving a total of 14 matches. Thereafter, the top two clubs in each Section will contest the Semi-Finals over one leg. The winner of each Semi-Final tie will contest the Final, again over one leg. The dates for playing these matches are as follows:-
Sectional Matches – Week commencing, Monday, 14th September, 2009
Semi-Finals – To be played by 15th March, 2010
Final – To be played by 12th April, 2010
In respect of the Semi-Finals and Final, I would confirm that in the event of a draw after normal time, extra time of 30 minutes (i.e. 15 minutes each way) will take place and thereafter, if necessary, kicks from the penalty mark will be taken in accordance with the rules laid down by the International Football Association Board.
